About

My name is Dan True. I’m a (soon-to-be) Software Engineer, I do historical martial arts and I’m a GM and aspiring RPG writer.

I started p&p roleplaying sometime around 2004-2005 as a player in a AD&D 2nd edition game which never got further than one session – my next experience was as a GM in a d20 Modern Game. Since then I have played D&D 3.x, Dark Heresy/Deathwatch, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying 2nd edition, Vampyre the Masquerade and GURPS for varying times and both as player and GM.

A few years ago I stumbled (after hearing my bigger brother telling tales of gaming ‘back in the day’ in Rolemaster and Runequest) upon Moongose Publishing’s Runequest version (popularly known as MRQ2). It has since been revamped into the system commonly known as Legend, while RuneQuest has moved on to a new edition, RuneQuest 6 – which is what I’m playing now.

I created this blog to help me share some of the stuff I produce and to motivate me to produce it in digital, easy-to-find and read form rather than just scribbled notes. I’ll be adding various kinds of content to the site: maps, adventures, items, tips & tricks, tales from the table and general experiences. Most content will be written for RuneQuest – but material will likely be general enough to convert to whatever you feel like using for your game.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the site – I am always glad to hear feedback or perhaps share some anecdote or material. You can always contact me at Dan (at) runequill.com – I’ll be happy to hear from you 🙂
